Breast Cancer 3-Day WalkBenefiting The Susan G. Koman Foundation 60 miles in 3 days |
|
Did you know that 2 1/2 seconds someone learns they have breast cancer? And that the chance it can be a woman you know is 1 in 7? None of us gets out untouched. This is unacceptable.
The Reason: Raise money for research to end breast cancer.
The Plan: On August 15th - 17th, 2004, walk 60 miles in 3 days, starting in San Mates and ending in San Francisco.
The Goal: Raise $5000 and train like heck!
The Result: With 1,600 other walkers in SF, we collectively raised almost $5 Million! (and there are 9 other cities doing the same thing this year.) We made it the entire 60 miles, despite a few minor injuries to both of us.
Training Log - We didn't record a log this year, but we estimate over 200 miles in training walks between June and October.
The Hall of Heroes - 98% of our $5,000 goal was attained thanks to these wonderful people.
