Where Tony & Rhonda's adventures and hijinks become public!

November 30, 2004

We're back from Florida! We visited a trillion relatives and had an awesome -- though tiring -- time. In the quiet moments, my grandma (Nanny) taught me all about knitting. Now I have two projects running and about twelve I'm dying to start. S0 just fill up my holiday list with funky yarn and iTunes gift certificates (can't knit without music, after all) and I'm a happy gal.

Gabe did fantastic with the cat sitter, so we're feeling VERY positive about the possibility of actually travelling again. Wow.

But today I feel like a blob. I'm lying around in sweats and grubby hair, still recovering from jet lag, while poor Tony is back at work already.

Must be the weather.

Last spring, summer and fall, I was all about working out, getting my trainer certification, climbing, taking training walks for the 3-Day, doing the 3-Day, weight training, etc.

Now the days are short and gray, and my obsessions have changed overnight. I just visited eBay bought a needlepoint kit, a latch hook rug kit, AND a book on knitting. All on the same day. Images of homemade ponchos and fluffy pillows are dancing in my head. Weird, huh? I guess the weather has brought out a long-dormant Girly Gene. (Hmm... maybe that's how I ended up writing the bath book. Aha!)

Tony has no such problem. He's off doing a press day for an army game. He's even dressed in camoflague and kevlar and will be demonstrating the rock wall for the press. Lucky Tony!

Yep. Been sick all week. My little sister has mono, so I'm getting a little worried when my sore throat lasts day after day after day.

Nonetheless, having a reasonably good time playing the zillion video games Tony brought home to amuse me. He's still healthy, for which I am both jealous and relieved.

Anyone know any good tips for GTA:San Andreas?

Sick. Virus. Sick. Ugh. Headache. Honk. Sick. Virus.

Okay, okay. Seems that the best way to find out how many people actually visit your site is to neglect it for a few weeks. Sorry, all.

Been busy. The work is finally underway on the bathroom, which means plumbers and the like have been trooping through here on and off for the past few weeks. Very hard on Gabe, who has to stay locked in the bedroom, and very hard on me, who has to stay locked in the house (to answer questions, be a doorman, and wave the broom under the fire alarm so it doesn't go off while soldering is being done.) But it will be nice to have a shower again!

Also recovering from the walk, of course. And voting. And watching the hideous result of the voting. Arrgh.
